Restored, Bechstein Model A grand piano with a polished, rosewood case and turned, faceted legs. Music desk is in an openwork, slatted design with central sunburst motif. Piano cheek features a linear case moulding that wraps around the base of the cabinet. Piano has an eighty-five note keyboard and a two-pedal lyre.
A mid-sized parlor grand piano known for its rich, lyrical, and nuanced tone and responsive action. This model has a long history, with vintage examples dating back to the early 20th century. C. Bechstein have a long tradition of producing high-quality, handmade instruments made in Germany. Ideal for both solo performances and chamber music, providing a colourful dimension to musical interpretation.

C. Bechstein

C. Bechstein Pianoforte AG (also known as Bechstein) is a German manufacturer of pianos, established in 1853 by Carl Bechstein. Carl Bechstein set out to manufacture a piano able to withstand the great demands imposed on the instrument by the virtuosi of the time, such as Franz Liszt. In 1862, C. Bechstein was awarded gold medals at the London International Exhibition. By 1870, with endorsements from Franz Liszt and Hans von Bulow, Bechstein pianos had become a staple in many concert halls and private mansions. By January 1886 they were among the piano manufacturers holding a royal warrant as a supplier to the Queen. In 1885, Bechstein opened a branch in London, that eventually grew to become the largest showroom and dealership in Europe. Four musicians who composed on Bechstein pianos: Edvard Grieg, Alexander Scriabin, Maurice Ravel, Bela Bartok.

An amazing Alladin's Cave of a place, filled with pianos antique and modern over several floors of a huge old warehouse. Besbrode also host events - I'm just returning from one, where a group of pianists performed to each other on a Steinway generously provided for the occasion.

Came here as a side trip when attending the Leeds Graduation ceremony. Ann and Steven were really helpful and gave honest advice. Theres no hard sales here and your left to literally try as many pianos as you like. They don't rush you to buy and let you find the right piano which is what all piano shops should do! There is a huge selection of pianos here and i would recommend this establishment
