Traditional style cabinets have less ornamentation than the antique and artcase style of its predecessors but still feature some cabinet styling. Wood finishes were still popular during this time period. Pianos from this time period were often "modernised" by their owners who coveted the new, sleek modern look. Traditional style grand pianos in original condition often feature accent mouldings around the cabinet, filigree cut-out music desks and a variety of leg styles including gate legs, square tapered legs and cabriole.
