This piano never had a serial number put on the frame although it appears in Steinway, Hamburg's delivery book under 310054. Steinway records state this piano was delivered on 17th August 1945 to Herford, Germany. Herford at that time was the headquarters to the British Forces and the British Forces Broadcasting Service made their first radio shows from there. The piano was used for the radio program of for the officers casino and ball room. The Steinway factory started piano production again in 1949.
To be rebuilt: Cabinet repolished to the highest standard. Action, Strings, Bridges, Pin Blocks, Tuning Pins, Dampers are all brand new. Keyboard repolished. Tuned and checked.
